Theme Hunting
Right now I’m in the process of searching the right theme for my website. Most of you probably didn’t spend too much time looking for your theme but I guess I’m not alone my journey. Although I’m very much at the programming side of things I sometimes when I have the chance design web templates. But for now since time is of the essence I rely on ready made templates available for Wordpress.
So for everyone like me how do you pick your design or theme? Do you go through any process? Do you try out a design for at least a week then change it eventually if you don’t like it anymore. How do you pick your colors? Feel free to share your opinions.

Stumbled across your site through your comment at briangardners.com. It would appear that you also appreciate his silhouette theme, as do I! You’ve slimmed his down a little, and it looks really good. I took the 3 column approach, and after looking at yours, I might have to re-engineer somethings or tryout the two column.
As for why I pick a certain style or theme, I look for solid structure/design. I lack a single design bone in my body for a basic foundation, but I can take most themes and run all day with them. Like a true artist, I steal the original idea and twist it in every direction. Sometimes it looks like something completely different… sometimes it doesn’t.
Thanks for dropping by Matthew. I appreciate your comments. I’ve spent theme hunting for hours until I ended up with Brian Gardner’s Silhouette 2 column theme.
I also thought about using the 3 col but I decided to go for the minimalistic 2 col centered design. It shows the whitespace on both the sides and makes the design less cluttered and more focused. I will still customize this theme when my time frees up a little. Thanks again.
It seems to me that this website is very serious and dramatic in content, and I don’t want to ruin that feel. Anyways, Congratulations to your website! Don’t worry about the design its clean, the design will come to you…
Design is not having a cool layout, or making everything look nice, the design is the system itself.
Thanks and God Bless
Thanks Rex! You freakin made me laugh dude! hahaha! I’ll be waiting for your website!
