My Amazon Monthly Earnings For January
This time however, I’ve decided to share what I’ve been earning from my websites that are promoting physical products from Amazon. I would report my earnings on a monthly basis but I will stop the reporting when I reach my first $500 in a month. Part of the reason why I’m doing this is to help me stay on track because I get distracted a lot. The goal is to reach the $500-month on or before June 2011.
Again, the purpose of this post is not to impress you but to impress upon you that making an extremely good living online is a reality only if you put in some serious amount of consistent effort.
I started getting into physical products last November 2010 and the first course that I’ve bought was Dan Brock’s Deadbeat Super Affiliate and I also bought Sara Young’s Easy Paycheck Formula. I learned a lot from those two courses and built my first physical product site that promotes a certain brand of juicer back in November 2010. I continued on building websites and it wasn’t until January 2011 that the commissions started rolling in and here’s what I’ve earned for the month of January.

January 2011 earnings – $79.54
As you can see, I sold 13 items and the majority of the earnings came from the juicer that I’m promoting. I also got sales for the products that I’m not promoting and this is a normal scenario when you’re sending people over to Amazon.com. They’re already a trusted brand online and people are more comfortable with Amazon so your conversions are going to be really high. This is one advantage of Amazon affiliate marketing over promoting information products in Clickbank.
Right now I’m just deploying out my Amazon soldiers and making sure that I’m promoting each of them effectively. This is really exciting stuff and it seems that I’m going to break the record for this month of February because my earnings are over $70 already.
Here are some tips you can use when choosing your Amazon products (learned this from Deadbeat Super Affiliate):
- Choose a product that is priced at $100 and above
- A product with an average star rating of 3.5 – 5.0
- Has 10 consumer reviews or more
- There are other similar related products
I hope that this post will inspire you to consider on promoting physical products in Amazon. If you have any questions please use the comment form below.

Good for you. I am looking forward to the update.
I like your statement that “making an extremely good living online is a reality only if you put in some serious amount of consistent effort”.
I’ve been trying to do make an online living and I won’t give up even there is always a sceptical opinion my my spouse.
I believe I can make it eventually.
That’s the right attitude Marq!
People need to shift their mindset to be in this IM business for the long term and never be afraid of failures and mistakes.
There’s actually a number of failures that you must experience before you can achieve success. And success can be anything and it’s definitely not just monetary.
For eg. you can write 20 articles that never get ranked in the first page before you write one that gets ranked at top.
For many people they stop writing altogether and think that 5 or 10 articles is going to cut it.
If you want it bad enough, just keep on pushing and moving forward. If you get stuck, send me an email and I’ll do my best to help you get unstuck.
But realize that ultimately it’s all up to YOU to take action if you want to be successful whether it’s in IM or with your life.
Hi Raymond.Congrats on your commissions and thanks for the info. I’m currently using Easy Paycheck Formula myself and I’ve already made commissions. I’m glad I found out about this training program.
About Deadbeat Superaffiliate, does it require you to create self-hosted websites or can you also use blogger to promote the products?
Hi Bob,
I checked out your review site and awesome job with your Amazon campaigns! It’s always cool to meet a fellow Pinoy who’s also into Internet marketing. The Deadbeat course does require you to build your own sites and that’s what I would recommend as soon as you get some income rolling in from your free campaigns from EPF. It’s always wise to reinvest some of your profits into your business so it can grow faster.
Hi Ray,
I have always cherished your approach to IM which i would like to adopt through the WAU however my problem is that iam a Nigerian and clickbank and paypal do not seem to like our faced for whatever reason. In fact i would have registered with the WAU long ago, but even how to effect the monthly subscription has remain a challenge.
Could you be of any assistance in this rgard?
Thanks
Isaac
Hi Isaac,
I’m not really sure what to advice you but try to contact WA and ask how you could go around this issue. Apologies if I haven’t been of any help. Hope to see you inside WA in the future.
Hi Raymond,
I found your site when I was checking the search terms that my own visitors were using to find my site.
I am in a similar position to you – in that I have just started promoting Amazon products – although I have not had any success with clickbank and very little success with other affiliate networks.
In January 2011 I had Amazon earnings of £74.51 (see amazonaffiliateprofits.co.uk/amazon-affiliate-profit-income-report-for-january-2011/) so about the same as you.
My focus is on Amazon.co.uk rather than the .com because I am living in the UK, and I have started my AmazonAffiliateProfits website as a way of keeping a diary for myself and hopefully to show others how hard affiliate marketing can be to start with, but how continued and consistent efforts can pay off in the long term.
Anyway, I was wondering whether you would be interested in some friendly competition?
Each month I am going to post my income results as well as other lessons I have learned along the way, and maybe we could keep in touch and perhaps learn from each other’s successes and failures.
Anyway, please let me know what you think, and feel free to check out my website. I am going to copy and paste this ‘comment’ on to my website and link it to yours as I am sure that anyone visiting my site would also be interested in visiting your site, and maybe following both of us.
Cheers,
Richard
Nice of you to drop by Richard. I’ve read your post and what you’re doing is actually pretty cool! I would love some friendly competition as it will definitely help both of our focus. As of now, my February commissions are already over $100 but you can easily eclipse this with your sterling pounds. hahaha. I’m also going to write about this on my blog so we can continue our discussion there. This is going to be fun! Good luck to your campaigns.
Nice earnings! Good luck hitting your target of $500 a month! Right now I have set my target pretty low and hope to hit my first $100/month really soon!
Definitely going to try promoting my amazon products a bit more and see if I can earn a bit of money from that though!
hi raymon, just wanna ask if amazon affiliate pays by check here in the philippines? and also i just recently joined amazon affiliate its been a month already, been tough though, but this post is just pure inspiration. i hope i could earn as much as you do in the future.
regards,
migs
Yeah, I believe they send checks here in the Phils. I really hope so. hahaha! I’m glad my post inspired you. Just keep plugging away and eventually you’ll get to the other end of the rainbow where the leprechaun keeps the gold. hahaha
Hello Raymond. Are you saying I won’t get rich in a month? Just kidding. You mention Amazon’s conversion rate being high. I realize that it is all relative. But, what sort of traffic numbers would a site need to duplicate what your site is earning? Of course I realize that targeted traffic is prime. But, is there a number in general?
Thanks.
It’s nearly next to impossible to give an exact number of traffic. Basically what I do is just build super small targeted sites that promotes a specific product. Let’s say you build a site that generates $200/month then all you need to do is build 5 of those sites to reach $1K/month. Just make sure you’re targeting buyer keywords. What I only do is register domain names like productnamereview.com and rank it for the ‘product name review’ keyword. It’s really that simple once you master the basics like keyword research and linkbuilding. Then it will all boil down to doing the actual work.
hi
would like to ask how you are getting paid by amazon.
Is it by check? or paypal?
your reply would be a great help
thanks
There are different ways that Amazon can pay you but I can only choose to be paid by checks. I think my first check hasn’t been delivered yet because they have this different payment schedule.
Your site is really inspiring. This a whole new way to earn money and I will try it very soon. I have a question though, how do you encash the cheque that Amazon sends you?
Hi John,
First I opened a dollar account here in the Philippines. Then I just deposit my Amazon check, wait for 30 days to clear, withdraw dollars and then convert it to Philippine pesos.
Thank you very much for your quick reply. At the same time, I’ve also read some tips from other Pinoy bloggers. As of late, I am going to start with this great opportunity. By the way, is it okay if I use a free wordpress account to do affiliate marketing? I don’t have money kasi to set up my own dot com account.
It’s okay to start affiliate marketing using a free WP account but do your best to get a hosting asap if you intend to do this in the long run.
