My Amazon Monthly Earnings For February

01 March 2011 ~ 13 Comments

I’ve said a lot of times that I will focus most of my efforts into Amazon affiliate marketing. But most of the time I wasn’t following through and eventually I would get distracted altogether.

Of course I still managed to setup some sites but I only added one Amazon site (remember I was distracted. hahaha) last February. I was also wondering how Richard (he’s challenging my Amazon commissions) is doing with his Amazon campaigns. We’re having a friendly competition and my initial plan is to disclose my earnings every month until I reach an income goal on or before June 2011.

February 2011 Amazon Earnings – $154.47

My Amazon Earnings for February 2011

This is a really nice increase and right now I’m just working on improving my knowledge and techniques with regards to Amazon affiliate marketing. In my experience, it’s really not that easy but like everything that I’ve experienced so far, it’s going to be worth it in the long run.

    Hi!

It’s really nice of you to share your amazon earnings. I just would like to know if how many websites earned you this for february?

Thanks in advance for the reply!

I think I have less than 5 profitable sites but I’ve created a bunch that are not successful. The major reasons why some sites are not successful is because I’ve targeted low searched keywords and I get distracted most of the time. hehehe. Right now, I do my best to find keywords that have a minimum of 500 exact U.S. local monthly searches and build a site around that keyword. Honestly I still have a lot of work to do when it comes to choosing products and niches but I believe physical products is way more easier than promoting information products such as ebooks and software.

Thank you for the answer. I really hope to be able to make money online as much as you do. Thanks again.

    Congratulations Ray.
You lead 1 nil. I had a shocking month in February as you can see by reading my income report at http://www.amazonaffiliateprofits.co.uk/amazon-affiliate-profit-income-report-for-february-2011/
That said, I have already exceeded my February income with 4 orders on the 1st March, so I am hoping to be more competitive this month.
    Cheers
    Richard

It’s still too early for congratulations. hahaha. Like I’ve said, my main improvement is going to be on keyword selection and making sure that it has enough exact monthly searches. Don’t use broad as it’s totally inaccurate (there’s really no such thing as an accurate keyword tool. hahaha) but start with phrase then narrow it down to exact and somewhere in between you’ll get some guestimate as how to how much traffic you’re going to receive. Right now I’m looking for keywords that get 500 exact monthly searches in U.S.

    Dear Raymond,

Thanks to advise how to implode sales on Amazon, it has been two months with two sites, and 1005 clicks on the Amazon links without a single sale. Knowing that my sites are ranked in number 1 page for the google bing yahoo for “top best amazon headphone reviews” “best amazon headphone reviews” “and amazon headphone reviews”

    • Raymond Selda 5 March 2011 at 11:20 am Permalink

Over a thousand clicks without a single sale is a definite cause of concern as you’d expect a high conversion rate (at least 5%) when you send people to Amazon. I’ve seen your site and here’s my opinion. If I’m going to search for ‘best amazon headphone reviews’, I would expect to see a comparison of different headphones and not just a single product. The keywords that you’re ranking for and the content that your visitor is seeing is not really relevant so it’s not making a connection and honestly it just feels like you’re selling (people don’t like to be sold to). I also suggest that you add some negatives to your reviews.

You can do 2 things to improve your conversions:

      1. Get your Sennheiser HD 280 PRO review page ranking for ‘Sennheiser HD 280 PRO’ and ‘Sennheiser HD 280 PRO review’. I don’t know how much these keywords gets searched so you have to do some research on it.

      2. In your homepage, review at least 3 headphones.

      That’s it.

I can’t guarantee that sales will be coming but this is what I would if I were in your position. Hope this helps :)

Thanks for your advise, yes you are right the landing page must be relevant to what the buyer is looking for and the best way is to increase the keyword density regarding a specific product rather than the promotion of the site or the domain, the technique of reviewing many products under the same category is mostly used in web 2.0 sites like squidoo and hubpages , i also found other sites based on word press platform using the same technique, i will give this a try

Raymond do you have a product to buy so i can learn from you more those techniques ? As it seems to be far for me from earning money as you do :)

What other affiliate programs outside of amazon do you recommend?

    • Raymond Selda 9 March 2011 at 5:12 pm Permalink

There are Commission Junction, Shareasale, Linkshare but what I usually do is just Google for product category or name “affiliate program”. Eg. weight loss pills “affiliate program”

One really good example is right under your nose… my blog. hehehe. I’m not talking about blogging as it’s a different model of earning an income online. My advice to you is to just get your hands dirty and dive straight right into affiliate marketing.
