I’m Thinking of Buying Bookmarking Demon… Again!

Bookmarking Demon was the first ever software that I bought when I started learning how to make money online. I was a complete beginner at that time (June 2009) and I didn’t have any real knowledge about building links. Bookmarking Demon was recommended to me by someone who I trust and uses the software on a daily basis so I decided to purchase it.

At that time I was promoting a product on tinnitus treatment and I built a website around it. I used BMD on that site and I was surprised because it got my brand new site indexed in less than 24 hours. I was really psyched about that and I thought it was the start of something good.

But a few weeks have passed and my site didn’t reach the first page for my targeted keywords (I think I was targeting the term “tinnitus treatment” which is very competitive but I’m too novice to know that! hahaha). On top of that I didn’t get any sales after anxiously waiting for a few weeks. This was the time that I actually quit making money online.

I also returned Bookmarking Demon because I thought that it was only for indexing purposes. And besides, it didn’t get my web page on top of the search engines so I had no use for it, right? Hahaha!

Can you spot the mistakes that I’ve made as a beginner?

First, I only relied on social bookmarking links to get my web pages on top of search engines. Now when I think about it, I can only smile and shake my head in disbelief. Hahaha.

Now don’t get me wrong. There will be times when social bookmarking links will be enough for getting first page rankings but it will depend on a lot of factors especially on the level of competition for your keywords.

I didn’t have any idea yet about article marketing and how writing articles is a very effective way of generating traffic to your promotions.

My biggest mistake and the one that I’m really embarrassed about is that I was waiting for sales to come after only a few weeks! And I quit after getting some big zeros on my Clickbank account… I was one of those people who had the gold rush mindset!

Well I’m glad to say that all of this is behind me now. I’ve learned my lesson well thanks to the Wealthy Affiliate University.

Now I’m really thinking of buying Bookmarking Demon again. The main purpose is that I want to get some quick links to my niche websites so it will be indexed quickly. I don’t really incorporate social bookmarking links into my linkbuilding strategy but I think it will only improve the system that I have now.

I’m planning to buy BMD next month because I’m expecting some commissions in my Paypal account. I don’t want my credit card to be charged because BMD’s price is at $147 (which is over Php 6,000).

Anyway I hope that you’ve learned some lessons from my newbie mistakes. What’s up with my business right now? Well, I’m actually shifting my efforts into promoting physical products from Amazon and other networks. I just setup my first Amazon affiliate site. I don’t have any results yet but I’m really excited about taking the physical product route (I also got a couple of courses to review that will tackle this subject).
